About Me
Teaching isn’t just what I do — it’s who I am, and honestly, it runs in my family’s DNA.
My great-grandmother taught every grade in a one-room schoolhouse back in the 1940s. My grandfather taught welding, my dad taught machining and served as an associate dean at the junior college, my mom taught business, and my sister taught kindergarten. Somewhere along the way, I never stood a chance of doing anything else — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’ve spent nearly 30 years in education, teaching at both the high school and college level. This blog is my way of sharing what I’ve learned, what’s worked, and what I’m still figuring out — because great teaching is always a work in progress.
That’s me!
When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll find me spending time with my grandsons, wrangling my small herd of goats, or being bossed around by my two dogs. (They have their own section of this blog, because apparently they deserve it — and their taste in dog food is more expensive than mine.)
Life on the farm!
Whether you’re here for the teaching strategies or just stumbled in looking for dog food recommendations, welcome. Pull up a chair. There’s always something worth learning.
